End of Year Insanity: Being Busy, Staying Sane

End of Year Insanity: Being Busy, Staying Sane

We've made it. Like Sarah in The Labyrinth, we've faced dangers untold and hardships unnumbered—and have still been blessed enough to reach the home stretch of 2020.

This home stretch though. Whew! I know I can't be the only one seemingly drowning in deadlines and plans for the upcoming year. For many of you, on top of normal holiday stress, and the abnormal 2020 stress, there's also the push to not only wrap this year up strong and prepare for a stronger 2021 ahead.

Where the hell do we begin, though?

For me, it's been about breaking things down into bite-sized pieces and attacking it where I can, as I can. For example, I have all my social media planned through the end of 2021. Yes, that makes me crazy. No, the content isn't all written, but I can look on any given day in my notebook and tell you generally what subject I'm going to touch on. This should save me from staring slack-jawed at a screen with a fried brain wondering what the heck do I write about?

I've also been working really hard at trying to stay structured. Things change from day to day—but jotting down a to-do list at the beginning of the day really helps me stay on task. I get done what I can, but I've learned to be kind to myself and not beat myself up on what I can't.

This year has been crazy for everyone. At the end of the day it's crucial your your sanity and your business to plan as much as you can, but realize that there is a chance all those plans are going to blow up. And, you know what happens when they do? You survive. It's going to be okay. Try to do what you can, but ultimately take things day-to-day and be kind to yourself.

Do you have any tips and tricks to getting things done this year? Please feel free to share in the comments!

Love,

Michelle xoxo
